On Saturday, January 28th, we are doing a cleanup project at the CANO preschool in Santa Ana at 1211 South Main Street, 92707. We are asking for your help and support during this effort. CANO pre-school is a state school that was started for black children. The school at one time was housed in 2nd Baptist according to Bro. Dwayne Roberts and Mother Roberts was the pre-school director.
We have history with this group and they need our help. Over the last few months, the teachers have been earmarking items to be thrown out. Our primary effort is to go in and haul items to the dumpster that have already been marked to be discarded. At the same time, some of the folks in our group will begin organizing the offices as we clear out the marked items.
If we can get enough people to assist, we should be able to accomplish this in a few hours. We are asking everyone to meet at the pre-school at 9 a.m. and we will organize into work groups to get the work done faster.
If you have box dollies, hand trucks or other wheeled cargo movers that will help make the process easier, please bring them. Also, if you have push brooms, rakes, shovels, etc, bring those too. We anticipate there will be residue that needs to be swept and picked up. Please sign up at both church locations after services on Sunday January 22nd. If you don't get a chance to sign up, come out anyway! We need the help!
We are excited about our opportunity to help this school. We will be working alongside teachers and parent volunteers who may not have a church home. This is a perfect opportunity to build relationships and let our lives witness to those who may not know the Lord. This is what the church is charged to do in the Great Commission (Mt. 28: 18-20).
Please come out and help us make this outreach effort a success!
