SBC is a church dedicated to serving Orange County and beyond. We are convinced that the gospel of Jesus Christ is a life-transforming message, which results in a dramatic renewal in individuals, and throughout the community. Here at SBC, we do not only just worship and preach on Sundays, but continue to share the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the week and with everyone we encounter.

BELIEFS

At SBC, our beliefs are the heart of who we are. They're not just words on a page; they're what define us. Everything we do, from our teachings to our ministries, is inspired by these biblical truths, giving us our sense of purpose and identity.

We believe Scripture is God’s infallible word, it is the supreme authority for Christ-followers and the Church.
We believe Scripture teaches that apart from God we can do nothing, we are a people of prayer, obedience, faith and risk.
We believe salvation is found in Jesus Christ, we are committed through word and deed to see all lost people come to Christ and grow into His fully devoted followers, and to multiply missional congregations.
We believe God is a relational being who created humanity in His image, and because the Scriptures call churches to interdependent relationships to most effectively carry out God’s mission, we value building relationships both between the church and the community at large.
We believe all men and women are made in the image and likeness of God, we embrace and celebrate the multiplicity of generations, ethnic backgrounds, and cultural expressions within the body of Christ modeling reconciliation to the world.
We believe each generation needs new life in Christ, we value the development of a new generation of leaders, and ministries that reach and serve next generations.

Senior Pastor

Ivan S. Pitts

Pastor Ivan Pitts is an action oriented, high energy, enthusiastic, and socially conscious servant leader. His personal goal is to profoundly impact the larger community by living his life’s mission to “love sincerely and to laugh intensely”. He firmly believes, “to whom much is given, much is required!”

As a native of Los Angeles, CA and was reared by his mother in a single-family home with four siblings. While serving in the U.S. Navy, he had the opportunity to travel the world.
Pastor Pitts has served/pastored in Anderson, SC, Bronx, NY, Danbury CT, and currently serves as the Sr. Pastor of the Historic Second Baptist Church, Santa Ana!
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science from San Diego State University, a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Clark Atlanta University, a Master of Arts in Religious Education in Pastoral Studies from Fordham University, and a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling from the New York Theological Seminary.
He has conjointly held positions in the corporate arena and higher education while working in the faith-based arena. What brings him the greatest joy is being a devoted husband of over 27 years to his wife Tanishé and being a loving and active father to their children, Imani, Rhyan, Eryn and Donovan. He treasures family time and loves to travel. In addition to being big sports fan, he enjoys cycling as well as running in multiple local and international marathons.
